Just north of Midtown and Ansley Park, Piedmont Heights is a small but rapidly-growing neighborhood known for housing Atlanta’s favorite casual restaurants. It’s a convenient, centrally-located area just a stone’s throw away from Piedmont Park. In addition to long-time local favorites, tons of new restaurants have popped up recently, solidifying its dining scene and making it a neighborhood to watch.
Geographically, Piedmont Heights is a tiny area sandwiched between Piedmont Park and I-85. It might have a small footprint, but it’s still worth a visit!
Locals and tourists flock to this neighborhood for the small-town feel and welcoming atmosphere. You’ll mainly find restaurants, a few grocery stores, and local retail shops. Create your own foodie crawl by strolling Piedmont Avenue and trying a few bites from each restaurant. There are plenty of pup-friendly outdoor seating options here, too!
On the weekends, residents can be found feasting at one of the popular eateries peppered throughout the neighborhood! Fat Matt’s Rib Shack has been an Atlanta staple for over 30 years, and recent additions like Little Rey and Grana have become ultra-popular with locals. Make sure you check out Grana’s rooftop patio and bar for one of the hottest spots in town. You’ll also find the only in-town location of Sprouts Farmers Market here!
It’s easy to get around in this small neighborhood despite not being located within walking distance of a MARTA station. Just a few minutes from Midtown and a short drive to Lindbergh and Buckhead, this area is perfect for commuters. Most rental communities were built in the 2000s, so you’ll enjoy more affordable rent while still living in a desirable area.
