The Tides Apartments, Chicago

Very pleasant

It's okay, but for the price the finishes are not up to date enough or high enough quality. Also management charges for everything - light bulb replacement etc. Coming from a great building in DC where management was so professional and on top of things and didn't ever charge for any repairs I definitely feel more like a number than a resident here. What do you like most: The door staff are really nice. I also like that there is a gym. What do you like least: The old fixtures and the nickel and diming for simple repairs (which is technically their responsibility; I'm paying rent to you so I don't have to do these things and it's their property so routine upkeep is their responsibility).

It's been very convenient and great for going to Booth. Of the options in the area, it's definitely one of the better rental buildings.

Great. The neighborhood is definitely a little quiet in the evenings (restaurants closed by 9/10pm) and expensive (especially the nail salon!). Really like the green park in the middle though

Had an excellent experience living at the Tides. Really loved all of the building's amenities (spa, computer lab, gym, free coffee in the mornings) and being in the Lakeshore East park community. My husband and I valued living so close to the grocery store (especially on cold days). Location was very convenient for my husband's work commute, shopping on Michigan Ave. and River North nightlife.

My experience was very good for the time I was there. The building met my needs and had a lot of amenities but the surrounding area did not offer much in the way of social pursuits.

I like the building and the little park and that the supermarket and metra are close by. I dont like that there are no proper bars and that everything is from a chain, not local. Also the neigbourhood outside the little bubble had a lot of homeless people shouting.

Great building with a lot of new amenities. Really nice park outside and the convenience of Mariano's cannot be understated.

Feels like a quieter, safe, residential neighborhood that is incredibly close to bustling city life. Great combination that I was looking for when moving.

I’ve had zero issues so far while living here. It’s quiet if you like that but still very accessible to the downtown area if you wanted to venture out in the city
