The Granada Chicago Apartments

We like the building because of the location. We are not happy with the rats (there are a ton in the area even though it's a really nice neighborhood!). We also don't like that our building manager doesn't take out the trash from the trash rooms as often as they need to be emptied. It's a big building with a lot of units, and they empty it like 1-2 x a week (should be DAILY!). Also, generally I think they don't do enough cleaning, certain areas (hallways, common spaces) can be dirty. Building manager is responsive if there is an in-unit issue (temperature, plumbing, etc.)

My experience has been pretty good. For a studio in LP the size of my unit is pretty big, especially the kitchen, and it has a lot of character. Both my landlord and super are very responsive; whenever I have an issue like a light out or problems with my water pressure I have no problems reaching them and they fix it immediately. The only things that are missing are amenities like a gym or a doorman. Those are important features to me that I've had to sacrifice. All in all though I've had a good experience here. What do you like most: The apartment itself. It has a lot of character. What do you like least: Lack of amenities and the fact that I can't control the temperature.

The location of the building is EXCELLENT. Right by all the bars and restaurants on Clark. The units are good size for the price. Great unit for recent grads.
