Decent experience overall. The gym could be significantly improved (and I’m not a huge gym buff or anything) and the walls are a little thin, but really like the location and size.

Great. The South Loop is a diverse and growing Chicago area that doesn't fit into any of your drop down categories. I live near the Museum Campus/Soldier Field so it can be touristy, but there are pockets of culture and the population is extremely diverse (college kids, strollers and brunch, quiet to name some of your categories). I rent from a condo owner and the building is quiet, clean and residents are friendly(yet keep to themselves).
What did you like most?
I live in the S. Loop because of the new apartments and the proximity to the lake/ running paths. I like how updated my apartment is and how we have an east facing balcony (views of Grant/Millennium Park and Lake Michigan).
What did you like least?
My apartment is new but somewhat small for two people. The outdoor space and neighborhood easily make up for it.

Location of building is its biggest positive. I may have a skewed perspective as well, as I am friends with the owner of the condo I live in, and they give me a very good deal on rent for this area and size of unit.

Location, size of my unit, balcony available, updated amenities, adjoined parking
What did you like least?
Sometimes surrounding traffic is an issue, especially with events at Soldier Field. For the most part (like Bears games) it's not a huge issue, but for instance very special events (like the Grateful Dead concerts) was a huge issue.
