Downtown Atlanta is the ultimate in urban living. From the Victorian era buildings to the brand new skyscrapers, it’s the center of action in the city. While you won’t see much new construction Downtown, there’s lots of adaptive reuse going on. The city is in the middle of a massive, planned revitalization and it’s changing the entire face of Downtown. In recent years the city has invested in numerous clean-ups, repairs, landscaping, and Sculptural Playgrounds.
If you work downtown, living downtown will be the ultimate blessing, unless you like long commutes. Atlanta is notorious for its traffic, and downtown commuters are not spared at all. In recent years the city has implemented various new methods of getting to where you need to go downtown. Bike-sharing and scooters are common throughout the area, not to mention the Atlanta Streetcar that runs in a 2.7-mile loop around downtown and various Atlanta neighborhoods.
